What do we do?
The IFES work in Finland is organised as registered associations in university cities. These associations are lead by student boards and supported by a staff worker. We have got organised work in 13 cities.
The usual pattern is a weekly teaching meeting in a central location in the city. Students meet during the week in small bible study groups. These meetings are taking place in the student accommodations. In most cities there is an English speaking group as well. If not yet, we are most happy to start one. There are plenty of other kind of activities as well, like camps, sports, outreach, music etc.
In an average week a total of about 500 students gather together in our student meetings around Finland. The biggest group may be over 100 students and the smallest group 10 students.
IFES Finland has also activities in schools. Members of our staff visit schools and lead weekend Bible camps. This work reaches mainly the age group between 10 to 14. We are hoping to reestablish prayer and Bible study groups in schools.
Belief
The most important principles in our faith are the Bible and grace. The Bible is the highest authority of our faith and life. A sinner is saved only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
